The video shows a brown snake floating in a lowered tank in a garden bed which is filled with water from recent heavy rains. As the camera zooms into the reptile, identified as an Eastern brown snake we see two small mice, two frogs and some beetles laying on top of the snake using it as a flotation device. The video creator labels the video, “Only in Australia.”

Two other clips were shared of the snake and his friends, another video with the viral “Oh No - Kreepa” song overlaid. In this clip the two mice are seen scurrying along the top of the snake, a beetle is sitting on top of the green tree frog and a beetle even sits on top of the snake's head. As the camera pans around the tank, numerous brown and green frogs are seen trying to climb the walls to safety. The snake is then seen slithering around the tank, with its passengers clinging on to dear life.

The poster clarified that all of the animals got out alive, writing in the comments, "Yes they got them all out alive! And the snake too! 🐸 🐀 🐍"

Many commented on the bizarre mix of animals found in the tank, one writing, "such a random concoction of species” and another "that's a whole food chain.” Another said they were helping each other out, "When times get tough Aussie’s help each other out”.

Some viewers thought the snake was indeed helping his passengers out, one commenting, "I feel like the snake actually cares for them lol don’t know why it’s giving me that vibe 😂🥰 haha might be the way it’s looking at them 😅” however others weren’t so optimistic saying, "the snakes just keeping its food alive it didn't know how long he'd be in there lol.”

The now-viral video has produced hilarious captions from, "Snake, rats and toads? Why are my exes suddenly meeting up” and "Noah’s ark: the Australian way 🤣” and suitably, "clinging to the nope rope that is 2022😂😂😂.”

Another wrote the lyrics to the Three Best Friends song from The Hangover, creating a hilarious soundtrack to the moment:
"We're the 3 best friends that anyone could have, we're the 3 best friends that anyone could have, and we'll neva eva eva eva eva leave each other 🎵🎶"

North Eastern Australia has had days of downpours causing major flooding with Queensland hit the hardest.
