These 7 highly anticipated show are dropping new seasons in 2023 and we’re beyond excited!

Make sure you’ve caught up on previous seasons so you can avoid nightmare spoiler territory.

And if you’re still looking for a satisfying show to watch, these 7 will be a great place to start. No spoilers below, so have a read and get bingeing now!

The Mandalorian Season 3

Disney+ available now

Pedro Pascal, who plays the bounty hunter with a heart and deserving of a World’s Greatest Dad mug, returned to our screens on March 1, so watch out for spoiler alerts if you haven’t caught up on last season yet.

Fans are also being advised to check out The Book of Boba Fett, as a few episodes reference some plot developments involving Din Djarin and loveable Grogu. They bridge the gap between the end of season 2 of the Mandalorian and the start of season 3. Get on it.

Ted Lasso Season 3

Premieres on Apple TV+ on 15 March 2023

The drama comedy that made us want to be a better person (and love football even if we aren’t sporty) will return for a third and final season (and we’re not at all happy about it). Of course, it’s not really about football but the twists and turns of the interpersonal relationships of the fantastic cast lead by Jason Sudekis along with Brett Goldstein, Hannah Worthington, Brendan Hunt and Nick Mohammed.

In Season 3, things seem to be falling apart both on and off the pitch, but Team Lasso is set to give it their best shot anyway. It’s all been leading to this.

Succession Season 4

Premieres on Apple TV on 26 March 26 2023

Succession is another show that’s returning for its final season. The satirical black comedy drama centres on four power-hungry siblings vying for control of their family’s media conglomerate after the patriarch Logan (played by Brian Cox) starts to step away due to health issues. Season 4 continues the epic family feud and dysfunctional dynamics of the Roy family and explores the aftermaths of the major power shifts that happened in season 3. Expect tensions to run high!

The Bear Season 2

Premieres on Disney+ in winter 2023

Get those knives sharpened, because Golden Globe winning series The Bear is returning for a second season! It will have an extra two episodes, which is great news as we can’t get enough of brilliant chef Carmen, played by Jeremy Allen White, who comes home to Chicago to run his brother’s sandwich shop after he dies.

The drama is super tense as you’d expect for a show centred around a kitchen but is balanced with plenty of comedy and heart as Carmen tries to find his way in the shadow of his brother. We can’t wait to see what Carmen does in Season 2 to follow his dreams.

There’s no trailer for season 2 yet.

Severance Season 2

Premieres on Apple TV+ in mid 2023

Many of us struggle to have a work-life balance, so it’s no surprise this series was a huge hit. Adam Scott plays Mark, a team leader who undergoes a medical procedure along with his team to separate their work and home life memories.

The Emmy Award winning show gives new meaning to the terms ‘innies’ and ‘outies’ (we’re not talking bellybuttons here) with a stellar cast that includes Academy Award winner Patricia Arquette, Emmy winner John Turturro, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry and Academy Award winner Christopher Walken.

So far we’ve only seen a split second teaser trailer, which is hardly worth showing here, so check out the Season 1 trailer for the lowdown on what you’re missing if you haven’t seen it yet.

The Witcher Season 3

Premieres on Netflix in December 2023

Season 3 will be the last chance for fans to enjoy Henry Cavill in the title role of solitary monster hunter Geralt of Rivia, who’ll be laying down his medallion and swords for Liam Hemsworth to replace him from season 4. Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich promises that Cavill would at least receive “the most heroic sendoff”.

According to reports, season 3 will focus primarily on Geralt and Ciri. With many on the continent competing to capture Ciri, Geralt takes his newly-reunited family into hiding, vowing to protect them against all those who threaten their safety.

True Detective Season 4

Premieres on Apple TV in late 2023

This anthology crime drama features a self-contained story and unique cast each season, so in theory you don’t really need to catch up on previous seasons. The first season, with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, aired in 2014 and was a massive hit and remains a fan favourite. If you’re going to start fresh, definitely see it, as well as Season 3. It’s been 3 years since that one aired but the long wait will be worth it, with Silence of the Lambs star Jodie Foster returning to her detective roots for Season 4.

Officially titled True Detective: Night Country, Season 4 is set in a dark winter in Alaska and sees Foster as Detective Liz Danvers who investigates the mysterious disappearance of eight men working at an arctic research station. She’ll partner with Detective Evangeline Navarro (played by Kali Reis).
